Indie developer Alain Becam is releasing NYAF on Steam next month, but there’s a playable parody available now on Android.

NYAF is a gorgeous, hand-painted, hidden object game featuring enjoyable and relaxing music. Your task is to find hidden characters on these hand painted backgrounds, earning coins that can be used to buy two dogs that help you find them. There are eight levels of difficulties available, so you should have no trouble finding a setting that works for you should the game prove to be too easy or too hard.

Meanwhile, YAF is the name of the Android version, self-described as a game where the paywalls are part of the game. You must find the dollars to buy updates, or buy dogs to find the dollars for you. If you get stuck, you can buy the fake in-app purchases to get some help, or even find a way around it. Collecting enough dollars will also let you use the second shop to update your hero. He’s alone against a vast army of paintball warriors, so he’ll need all the strength he can muster.

Alain Becam started programming when he was eleven years old, combining game development with science-related programming, a passion which kept on well into his adulthood, continuing to develop computer games that have been published on itch. NYAF and YAF is his first release outside of that storefront.

You can download YAF from the Google Play for Android store for free. It contains ads, but there are no in-app purchases aside from the fake ones that fuel the gameplay. A Steam version of NYAF, which is slightly different from YAF, releases 9th November.
Interested in Halloween? A RICH MAN gave a great feast, to which he invited many friends and acquaintances. His Dog availed himself of the occasion to invite a stranger Dog, a friend of his, saying, "My master gives a feast, and there is always much food remaining; come and sup with me tonight." The Dog thus invited went at the hour appointed, and seeing the preparations for so grand an entertainment, said in the joy of his heart, "How glad I am that I came! I do not often get such a chance as this. I will take care and eat enough to last me both today and tomorrow." While he was congratulating himself and wagging his tail to convey his pleasure to his friend, the Cook saw him moving about among his dishes and, seizing him by his fore and hind paws, bundled him without ceremony out of the window. He fell with force upon the ground and limped away, howling dreadfully. His yelling soon attracted other street dogs, who came up to him and inquired how he had enjoyed his supper. He replied, "Why, to tell you the truth, I drank so much wine that I remember nothing. I do not know how I got out of the house."They spent the old year's last hour quietly around the fire. A few minutes before twelve Captain Jim rose and opened the door.

Last week there were reports going around that Konami had stopped working on all its big name franchises. It was said that all of the company's AAA game series would be abandoned apart from Pro Evolution Soccer.

Since then, as Throwing Digital Sheep discovered, Konami has responded to these reports, and has said that they are false.

For starters, Konami Europe's community manager Su-Yina Farmer suggested that the reports were false on Twitter. She stated: "I hope re-purposing speculation and rumour as news, isn't the new standard."
No Metal Gear left behind
But the more substantial response came from Konami support to an inquiring fan (via Reddit).

When asking if Konami would continue working on the Metal Gear Solid series, the support staff said the following:

"I can promise you that we're definitely not leaving Metal Gear behind or anything like that. I know some blogs were claiming that online this morning, but I'm not really sure where they'd be getting that from."

And later in the same response:

"We're still definitely working on console games and franchises such as Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Castlevania, PES and all the rest."

You can read the full response here.
Pachinko?
The response also mentions a previously announced Metal Gear game that is still in production.

We don't know what kind of game it is right now. It may end up being yet another of Konami's weird erotic pachinko games (such as the Silent Hill and Castlevania one.) We'll have to see.

In any case, Konami is gearing up for a big push on mobile moving forward. We just hope that this doesn't mean pachinko machines for mobile too.
SiliconeraTHE SHIP O'DREAMS COMES TO HARBOR
