1、ACCORDING to an ancient legend, the first man was made by Jupiter, the first bull by Neptune, and the first house by Minerva. On the completion of their labors, a dispute arose as to which had made the most perfect work. They agreed to appoint Momus as judge, and to abide by his decision. Momus, however, being very envious of the handicraft of each, found fault with all. He first blamed the work of Neptune because he had not made the horns of the bull below his eyes, so he might better see where to strike. He then condemned the work of Jupiter, because he had not placed the heart of man on the outside, that everyone might read the thoughts of the evil disposed and take precautions against the intended mischief. And, lastly, he inveighed against Minerva because she had not contrived iron wheels in the foundation of her house, so its inhabitants might more easily remove if a neighbor proved unpleasant. Jupiter, indignant at such inveterate faultfinding, drove him from his office of judge, and expelled him from the mansions of Olympus.
Band Saga is a musical action roguelike that's currently looking for funding through a Kickstarter campaign. 'But what's a musical action roguelike?' I hear you cry. Well sit back, and allow me to educate you.

Okay, I don't really know either. By the looks of things it means that everything in the dungeon-crawling chunks of the game is generated by music. And as you play you'll learn to manipulate that music to your advantage.

The game includes an FM sequencer that lets you tweak the music, and eventually, when you understand enough, you'll be able to create new chunks of soundtrack that are all your own.

It all sounds rather exciting and fresh. There are new characters to unlock as you play that add new instruments to your repertoire, and there's even two player co-op if that's the sort of thing that floats your boat.

The dev is looking for $29,000 to finish the game off, and that will get it into our pockets as an iOS game. It'll also be available on PC.

If the first stretch goal of $45,000 is reached, then we'll see Band Saga on the PS Vita as well. Which would be nice, because the PS Vita has lots of nice buttons to press.

In the event that any of this sounds like it might be of some interest to you, you can head on over to the Band Saga Kickstarter and throw some money into its face. Or use PayPal or whatever, I don't really know how these things work.

We'll let you know when the game gets a concrete release date, and keep you posted when King inevitably sues rekcahdam for using the word saga.

3、
Halfbrick has announced that its painting-ripping puzzler Bears vs. Art will be out all over the world for iOS and Android this Thursday. That's April 30th if you prefer the magic of numbers.

Bears vs. Art has been in soft-launch for over a year now so we have a pretty good idea of what it's all about.

In brief: you fling a bear around art galleries to tear up the paintings hanging on the wall. When you reach a painting you even get to swipe the screen to rip it into bits. Satisfying.

However, it's not as simple as all that. Rory the bear, the star of Bears vs. Art, has to be launched from wall to wall, unable to stop in between.

This makes navigation a little tricky. And combined with the time limit you'll find you'll need to work out the most efficient route from painting to painting.

On top of that, levels add ninjas and thieves that get in the way, security guards that need to be knocked out, lasers to turn off, and visitors to avoid.

We quite enjoyed it when we checked it out a year ago. So hopefully it is even better now. We'll find out in a couple of days.

Bears vs. Art will be free to download on both iOS and Android. Check out its website for more information.
